Description:	This event is the first in a series of activities designed to provide detailed guidance on selecting and addressing scenarios caused by external events (natural and human-induced) relevant for demonstrating the safety of radioactive waste disposal facilities. The project aims to enhance Member States' capabilities in conducting thorough hazard assessments and strengthening safety frameworks, aligning with the highest international standards. This will be achieved by expanding upon existing IAEA Safety Standards and incorporating experiences from Member States.
Applicants:	This event is intended to engage representatives from IAEA Member States involved in the siting, safety assessment, and regulatory oversight of radioactive waste disposal facilities and nuclear installations. This event is intended to attract: • Experts in the characterization of external events. • Experts in the safety assessment of radioactive waste disposal facilities and nuclear installations. • Operators, regulators, technical support organizations and representatives from academic institutions involved in safety assessments of radioactive waste disposal facilities and nuclear installations.
