| Description: | The purpose of the NEMS is to support young professionals or new comers in the nuclear sector in enhancing managerial and technical competencies that are essential for maintaining national nuclear energy programmers. During the school, the participants will be able to have all modes of instruction and training activities such as lectures, facility visits, discussions, group works and their presentation. Both the lectures and the technical tour will give the participants a deep insight about the way to implement the latest safety principles in their countries based on the lessons learned from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power accident. |
| Applicants: | New or young professionals with managerial potential who have at least 2 years working experiences in the nuclear energy and technology or related fields such as government organizations, regulatory bodies, owner/operators of NPP, R&D organizations including TSO, supply chain organizations, academia, education and training organizations. - In some cases, prospective candidates who are transferring industries, for example from the petrochemical industry may be considered as prospective student. - Should hold a university degree in science, engineering, business administration, law, or have the equivalent experience necessary to be able to meet the school requirement. - Must not have participated in previous NEM schools of the same kind. - Must not be under application for participation in other NEM schools this year. The Japanese hosts and IAEA will provide selected participants with a round-trip international flight ticket, hotels fees, daily allowance and local transportation in Japan. Though the self-funded participation is also more than welcome. |
