OSART mission confirmed good nuclear safety status of Czech nuclear power plants

Last week, representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency and teams of experts from foreign nuclear power plants completed an Operational Safety Review Team (OSART) mission to Czech nuclear power plants. The mission examined the operation of Temelín and subsequently Dukovany from the perspective of implementation of the Agency's safety recommendations. As a result, the overall compliance of the plants' operations with nuclear safety and radiation protection requirements was noted and several recommendations and suggestions for improvement were made. The teams also identified some examples of good practice.

SÚJB welcomes the results of the mission and thanks the teams and representatives of the operator for their exemplary cooperation in carrying out the investigation. We are pleased that the conclusions of the mission state the good state of nuclear safety of Czech nuclear power plants and are consistent with the long-term findings of our inspection activities.
