Experts from the State Office for Nuclear Safety (SÚJB) and the National Radiation Protection Institute (SÚRO) are taking part in a three-day technical seminar on the APR1000 project. The seminar focuses on a detailed presentation of the APR1000 reactor design at the current phase of the project and is part of the preparations for future licensing procedures for the new EDU 5 and 6 units.
The programme covers key information on the safety concept, safety analyses, safety systems, and other important aspects of the design. The presentations will be given by experts from Korean companies involved in the project (KHNP, KEPCO E&C, KEPCO NF, Doosan, etc.) and the American company Westinghouse, together with representatives of the company Elektrárna Dukovany II.
The seminar is organised by the company Elektrárna Dukovany II, held on 10–12 February 2026 at ÚJV Řež.
